About Artelio

Our Story

We founded Artelio as practising artists who have exhibited internationally and completed residencies worldwide. Through these experiences, we saw first-hand how transformative dedicated time away can be for a creative practice.

Residencies offer something rare: space, focus and a shift in environment. They create the conditions for ideas to evolve with clarity and momentum. But we also experienced how competitive and difficult many of these opportunities can be to access. For many creatives, the barrier is not commitment or capability — it is navigating intensive application processes and limited selection structures.

Over time, we began to question where the true value of a residency lies. Often, its impact is not in the CV accreditation or institutional validation, but in the lived experience of immersion — the quiet days of thinking, experimenting and developing work without distraction. Many residencies are largely self-directed, yet remain highly gatekept.

We created Artelio to widen access to that experience. By combining structured, application-based residencies (as we still do think they are great) with, what we like to call them, instant-book creative stays, we aim to make meaningful time and space more accessible — without removing intention or quality. Our focus is simple: to expand access to immersive creative time — preserving the integrity of residencies while opening the door more widely for everyone else.

Our Co-Founders

Meet Charlie

Charlie Haydn Taylor is a contemporary artist whose work has been exhibited internationally, with solo exhibitions in South Korea, Beijing and Singapore. He has completed residencies in Japan and France, experiences that have informed the scale, ambition and international outlook of his practice. His work is held in two major royal collections internationally, alongside collections worldwide.

Born in Jersey, Charlie has also developed numerous public artworks across the island, contributing to its cultural landscape through permanent installations and commissions. Alongside his own practice, he has curated exhibitions independently and in collaboration with Stella, building a shared commitment to creating thoughtful platforms for artistic presentation and exchange.

Through his international residencies and exhibitions, Charlie experienced both the opportunity and the exclusivity often embedded within traditional residency models. At Artelio, he brings a global perspective and structural vision — focused on building an accessible, considered framework that supports artists seeking meaningful time and space to develop their work.

Meet Stella

Stella Griffiths Lynch is a contemporary artist whose work has been exhibited across the UK and is held in private collections in New York, London and Jersey. After studying Fine Art at Kingston University, she completed residencies in Austria and Japan — experiences that profoundly shaped the direction and depth of her practice.

Alongside her studio work, Stella has curated exhibitions in London, developing a strong understanding of how artists are supported, presented and positioned within wider contexts. Through her own residencies, she experienced first-hand the value of dedicated time away: the clarity that comes from immersion, the shift in perspective that new environments can offer, and the quiet development that happens outside of public view.

At Artelio, Stella brings an artist-led perspective to curation and creative direction, ensuring the platform remains rooted in the real needs of practising creatives — with a focus on depth, integrity and meaningful time to work.

What We Are Building

Artelio is building a curated network of creative homes and residency spaces worldwide. By combining structured, application-based residencies with accessible, instant-book stays, we are creating a more flexible model for dedicated creative time.

Our aim is not to replace traditional residencies, but to widen access to immersive creative work.
